Hyderabad may be a big thing on the digital map but it still have people who think the Net is what you snag fish with. For those people, and those who don't have regular access to the Internet, there's the option of having their email sent home by post -- free of cost. The offer is limited to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad for the present, but the firms making the offer -- The Lead, a marketing communication agency, and Seacon, a local firm which also hosts a popular Web site -- plan to expand to other places in the south too.
While there is no monetary transaction involved, the recipient will have to live with the sponsors' banners on the letters. Such sponsors will further be provided banner advertising on Seacon's www.cyberabad.com. Khan says the cost can be as low as Rs 10 per mailer, from printing to final delivery. He didn't mention any plans for sending replies though...
