VSNL begins broadcast from INSAT-2E

Email this story to a friend. The Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited has commenced satellite broadcast operations on the INSAT-2E satellite through its newly commissioned advanced Standard-N, an Earth station located at Madras.

The broadcast operations on INSAT-2E makes it the third satellite on which VSNL is providing broadcast facilities.

The other satellites on which broadcast facilities are being provided by VSNL are the INTELSAT 66 satellite and the New Skies Satellite at 57 degrees, a release said today.

The initial broadcasting has commenced for Vijaya TV and Asianet, and other channels will be added progressively in July, according to the release.

The INSAT-2E, which was successfully launch in April 1999, has 17 high-power transponders, 10 of which are capable of providing a ''zonal beam coverage'' over India, Southeast Asia and China.

VSNL has prepared its ground segment in record time for commencing broadcast Standard-A antenna together with analog and digital satellite broadcast equipment.
