GE Cap to set up IT enabled services unit in Hyderabad
GE Capital International Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Capital, today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Andhra Pradesh government to set up a remote processing business facility for IT enabled services.
The facility is to be located in Hyderabad.
State Secretary R Chandrashekhar and GE Capital-India President and CEO Pramod Bhasin signed the MoU. Among those present were Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and GE India President and CEO Scott Bayman.
As per the MoU, GECIS will purchase land from state owned enterprise APIIC for expansion of its IT enabled services (remote processing) business, duly availing the incentives available under the IT incentives policy recently announced by the state government.
The following is the list of activities of the IT enabled services of GECIS:
- Data entry and processing;
- Accounting and account management;
- Contacting and communicating on behalf of overseas customers by voice, data, image and letters by using dedicated international private lines through VSNL or the STPI;
- Financial and related services;
- Marketing of information and services;
- Providing access to information for operations;
- Customer response;
- Billing;
- IT enabling services;
- Computer based services and products;
- IT R&D activities;
- Design centres and software and hardware development and support services.
