While BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya is planning to fly down to Kuala Lampur for a meeting with International Cricket Council chief executive Malcom Speed to sort out the
controversy involving Virendra Shewag, the man at the centre of the storm
refused to say anything about the controversy.
Shewag was given one match suspension by the match referee Mike Denness for
excessive appealing in the second Test between India and South Africa. While the BCCI insists that Shewag was dropped from the Indian side for the third
Test, the ICC insists that he should not be included in the Indian side for
the Mohali Test between India and England, from December 3.
"I have nothing to say regarding the controversy," Shewag told rediff.com
over phone when asked how he felt about the whole controversy.
"I have just reached Delhi and I am spending time with my family members. I
would not like to say anything about the controversy," Shewag persisted.
"Right now I am thinking about the India/England series ahead and would
start practicing from tomorrow. I have just got back home," he added.
When asked if the controversy is putting additional mental pressure on him,
Shewag said he would not like to answer the question as it amounted to
saying something about the controversy.
