South Africa have recalled Ashwell Prince for the last two one-day internationals against India.
Prince replaced fellow batsman Boeta Dippenaar in the only change to the squad that has earned South Africa a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
"We have brought Ashwell Prince back into the squad to give us experienced options should we wish to change our top order batting," convenor Haroon Lorgat said in a statement from Cricket South Africa on Monday.
Prince, 29, played the last of his 37 one-day internationals against Sri Lanka in Hobart on Feb. 7.
The unfortunate Dippenaar was dropped without having played in the three matches so far, the first of which was washed out without a ball bowled.
Wicketkeeper Mark Boucher, all rounder Jacques Kallis and fast bowlers Andrew Hall, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini and Shaun Pollock will be rested for Friday's Twenty20 match in Johannesburg.
"We are fortunate to have talented players in reserve which allows us to rest some of our senior players," Lorgat said
The fourth one-day international will be played in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday, and the series ends in Centurion on Sunday.
