All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan made another telling contribution with bat and ball to guide Bangladesh to a six-wicket win over Zimbabwe in the final one-day international on Friday and a 2-1 series victory.

Shakib, the first Bangladesh player to top one of the International Cricket Council's player rankings when he was listed as the leading all-rounder in the latest standings, took three for 15 as Zimbabwe were restricted to 119 for nine.

He then hit an unbeaten 33 to guide his side home with over four overs to spare.

Fog had delayed the start for more than two hours, reducing the match to 37 overs for each side.

Opener Tamim Iqbal top-scored with 34 but Zimbabwe were left to rue dropping Shakib before he had got off the mark, spilt by Sean Williams at deep mid-wicket.

Mashrafe Mortaza set the platform for the win with a devastating first spell that earned him three wickets in six overs, finishing with three for 26.

Asked to bat first, Zimbabwe struggled to keep the score board moving and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Bangladesh struck in their first over when Mortaza trapped Vusimuzi Sibanda in front off the fifth ball and never looked back, the opening bowler finishing with 3-26.

Sean Williams, who scored 59 runs in the previous game, provided some resistance with 38 off 46 balls before he became the second off-spinner Mahmud Ullah Riyad, who returned with 2-19.
