Nasscom, Dubai Internet City to sign MoUKanchana Suggu in Bombay Dewang Mehta, president, National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) announced that the association will sign a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Internet City on February 8, 2001. Ahmad Bin Byat, chief executive officer, Dubai Internet City will be in Bombay on February 8 to attend Nasscom 2001, informed Mehta at a press conference on Tuesday. The association is hosting the Nasscom 2001 international infotech conference in Bombay from February 7 to February 9. "We will make the announcement later. I cannot tell you anything before that," said Mehta refusing to divulge any details about the deal. A delegation from India has been sent from India to the United Arab Emirates for the purpose. Mehta is optimistic that the UAE will outsource software from India. "UAE will account at least $ 60 million of software exports from India this fiscal," he said. Dubai Internet City is reportedly the world's first free trade zone for e-business and media. The city -- which will be home to the entire value chain: venture capital, Internet strategy, e-business, multimedia developers, networking companies to CRM, call centres and other support organisations -- is poised to radically change Dubai's information services sector. |
