Bihar minister to taste life behind barsJustice has caught up for the second time with a Bihar minister. Thus, Ramlakhan Mahto, minister of state for food and supply, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment by a district and sessions court on charges of assault. Rejecting Mahto's petition, District and Sessions Judge Narendra Prasad Singh upheld the 1995 judgment of the Munsif magistrate of Dalsinghsarai, who had ordered imprisonment for the minister and three members of his family for beating up a person in September 1993.
