Networking at Independence Day EventARTESIA The Network of Indian Professionals, Los Angeles chapter, will have a booth at the FIA Indian Independence Day celebration here August 14. The association is in need of volunteers to sign up for attending the booth during the day for an hour each. This will also give volunteers and visitors a chance to meet and network with fellow Indian professionals from throughout the community. The organizers are looking for volunteers from among doctors and others interested in health care. Sri Krishna Janmashtami FestivalLANHAM, Maryland The Sampradhaya Bhajana Manadali is conducting a Sri Radha Krishna Kalyana Mahothsavam in Dakshina Bharatha Sampradhaya Bhajana Padhdhathi, established by Marudhaanallur Sadhguru Swamigal and Pudhukkottai Sri Gopalakrishna Bhagavathar. The event is being held on September 4 at the Sri Siva Vishnu Temple Lanham, Maryland near Washington DC It will be led by Valady R Nagarajan and will begin at 1 pm and end at 5 pm. Volunteer Sought For Indo-American CenterCHICAGO The Indo-American Center, established in 1990 to address the needs of south Asian immigrants, seeks volunteers. The IAC assists around 10,000 people annually. In addition to the south Asian community, immigrants from various parts of the world, including Europe and Middle East, also make use of the center. Most services are free of charge. Services include immigration counseling, a legal counseling center, a medical clinic, senior citizens programs and education for adults and children (tutoring). The organization is looking for volunteers, particularly from legal, medical and educational fields.
