Catholic Charities Launch Citizenship DriveNEW YORK The American Catholic Church, a strong supporter of immigrant rights, has launched a citizenship drive particularly for the elderly and sick immigrants in many American cities. The counseling is open to people irrespective of their religious background, church officials say. With the theme 'Become a US Citizen and Gain a Voice', the migration services of Catholic charities is offering free and confidential citizenship services to the elderly, disabled and homebound immigrants. Several states have cut or drastically reduced health and other aid available to green card holders irrespective of the length of their stay in America. Only citizens are available for the aid. Nishit Patel, the director of the Institute's New York office, conducts Breathing Intensive yogic exercises, September 13 to 27, 6 pm to 7.30 pm; $ 45. Judith Eloise Hooper teaches kids the Yoga of Art, helping them express what they feel through art. The first session is scheduled for September 5 to 20, 4 to 4.45 pm and the second, November 3 to 15, 4 to 4.45 pm. Fee, $ 30 for six classes, $ 45 for 12 classes. Ewa Radziewska offers Yoga for Beauty a course for women and the enhancement of beauty. It will be held on Wednesdays, September 8 to 29, 7.30 to 9 pm; $ 15 per class, $ 45 for four classes. Amit Chatterjee, a fusion musician who is adept at sitar, guitar and jazz instruments, offers Indian Music for Meditation and Healing, September 25, 1 to 5 pm; $ 45. Chatterjee says by listening to or singing classical music, one can experience inner integration and promote physical and emotional healing. The program includes history and science of raga melodies, experiential sessions, healing meditation and a live sitar performance.
