Authors To Read for SakhiNEW YORK -- Novelists Marina Budhos and Suneeta Peres de Costa will give a benefit reading for Sakhi on December 9 from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Both women will read from their new works; the readings will be followed by a Q&A session. Location: BlueStocking, 172 Allen Street, between Rivington and Stanton Streets. Take the F train to the Lower East Side. Admission: $ 10. Refreshments provided. All proceeds benefit Sakhi. Founded in 1989, Sakhi for South Asian Women is a non-profit organization based in New York City that works to end violence against women through individual advocacy, community outreach, leadership development, and organizing. Its goal is to help empower survivors of abuse and build a violence-free community.
