Fund-raiser For New Jersey TempleThe Sri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple, one of the more prominent temples in New York tri-state area, has announced plans to construct a concrete Prakaram around it. A fund-raising musical event will be held on the evening of December 4 at the temple auditorium. Swaralahari, a local musical group will offer songs from the movies, ranging from the 1950s to the 1990s. The Prakaram will be about 15 feet wide and will cover a total length of approximately 1,500 feet, temple officials said. This project is to be completed in two phases. Construction of concrete pillars and slabs and a small parapet wall will be part of the first phase. The project could cost around $ 500,000. The concert and dinner admission rate is $ 20. The temple is located at 780 old Farm Road, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
