PM vows to carry on war against terrorism

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Friday claimed major international support on Kashmir and vowed to continue the fight against terrorism till the ''terrorists guns fall silent.''

In a message from Bombay on the occasion of completion of one year of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre, the prime minister also claimed that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the north-east was improving steadily and would improve further in the coming months.

Vajpayee, who is convalescing after his knee operation earlier this week, justified the recent increase in prices of petroleum prices saying it was 'hard decision' that had to be taken in the long-term interests of the country. "The haves must bear a greater share of the burden than the have-nots in the transition period," he said.
