Even as large parts of Orissa are still recovering from last month's floods, the swirling waters have again inundated large parts of Jajpur district on the state's coast, official sources said on Friday.
Waters from the Baitarani river submerged about 135 villages in Jajpur district, they said.
Last month's floods in 26 of the state's 32 districts killed around 100 people and affected more than 8.5 million. The waters also washed away more than 5,000 houses.
Incessant rains over the last three days caused the Baitarani river to overflow on Friday afternoon at several places in the district, an official told the Indo-Asian News Service.
The latest flooding has affected nearly 129,000 people and swamped about 18,000 hectares of cropped area in the district, he said.
The floods in Jajpur have also affected some villages in the neighbouring Bhadrak and Balasore districts, the official said.
Nearly 85,000 people affected by last month's floods are now in the grip of water-borne diseases. A large number of people have also been bitten by snakes.
