The bail petition was dismissed by Second Additional Sessions Judge Bhaskar.
The Madras police opposed it on the grounds that the investigation was at a crucial stage, another accused in the case was yet to be apprehended and that some weapons used for threatening the personal assistant, Gopi Sridhar, were yet to be recovered.
During the early hours of June 13, police arrested Sudhakaran on a complaint filed by Sridhar, who alleged that he had been attacked by Sudhakaran and threatened with a revolver.
Sudhakaran was later produced before a magistrate and remanded to 15 days judicial custody and charged under nine sections of the Indian Penal Code, including attempt to murder (Section 307).
He was also booked in a separate case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act following seizure of a packet containing about 16 gms of heroin from his residence while it was being searched.
