Pakistani authorities have put a lot of their assets into the investigation, he added.
He, however, pointed out, "We do have an American citizen here who is missing and we want to make sure we have anybody on hand that might be able to help out."
Pearl has been missing since January 23 in Pakistan.
A previously unknown terrorist group 'The National Movement for the Restoration of Pakistani Sovereignty' has claimed holding him in 'very inhuman conditions' comparable to those of suspected terrorists in US custody.
The outfit has accused Pearl of being a CIA agent.
