Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday detained two persons, including a former deputy secretary of state Public Service Commission for allegedly bringing in funds for firebrand Jamaat-e-Islami and All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, already arrested under Prevention of Terrorism Act.
Those detained were former deputy secretary of J&K Public Service Commission Farooq Ahmed and an employee of Power Development Division Mohammed Maqbool, official sources said.
The sources said during the investigations it was revealed that the duo had carried dollars from Jeddah, which were handed over to Geelani.
Nazir Qureshi, leader of World Awami Muslim Youth, allegedly gave the money, which the duo had handed over to Geelani, the sources claimed.
