Congress is not soft on terrorists: Sonia

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday said accusations of her party being soft on terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir were baseless and motivated.

Talking to reporters in Jammu, where she arrived in the afternoon to meet the victims of Sunday's terrorist attack on Raghunath temple, Sonia said the People's Democratic Party-Congress coalition government in J&K would do everything to crush militancy.

"Do not dare to suggest that my party is soft on terrorists," she told a reporter.

She said the release of 26 ultras in J&K followed clearance from Central intelligence agencies.

Sonia said the Raghunath temple attack was brutal and barbaric and highlighted the tremendous challenges faced by the country's security forces.
