Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar was rushed to a private hospital in Nasik on Friday night after his blood pressure dipped suddenly.

The former defence minister was in Nasik in connection with the birthday celebration of the NCP's Nasik city president, Vasant Pawar.

He complained of uneasiness as he stood up to deliver his speech and taken to a private hospital.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, newly appointed NCP state president R R Patil, and Energy Minister Dilip Walse-Patil, a senior NCP leader, reached Nasik later in the night to inquire about their leader's well-being.

An official attached to Bhujbal's staff informed rediff.com that Pawar is feeling better now.
