"Mohammed Sayeed is the kingpin. I have told everything to the police," Telgi told reporters as he was whisked away after being produced in a Bangalore court.

When asked about Sayeed, Special Investigation Team chief, R Sri Kumar, said he was arrested in Kolkata on April 28 last year.

Sayeed is also wanted in stamp scam cases registered in Pune. He is in the custody of the Mumbai police.

Sri Kumar said Sayeed, now in his 50s, entered the fake stamp paper business earlier than Telgi.

Sources said Sayeed was lodged in the same prison cell as Telgi when he was brought to Bangalore.

Telgi said he is happy that the Karnataka government has handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

He also claimed that Ram Jethmalani will fight his case in the Supreme Court.
