Union Minister of State for Home Swami Chinmayanand on Tuesday expressed concern over loopholes in the security arrangements around and en route to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple.

"We will upgrade the security network around the holy cave shrine, en route and at the base camp in Katra," Chinmayanand told reporters in Jammu after meeting those injured in Monday night's blasts near Katra at the GMC Hospital.

Six pilgrims lost their lives in the explosions.

Chinmayanand reviewed the ground situation at Banganga, where the blasts occurred.

Union Minister of State for Defence, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, who accompanied Chinmayanand, said, "The blasts have not affected the yatra, which continues peacefully with 6,000 pilgrims leaving Katra on Tuesday morning for the cave shrine."

He said Pakistan continues to aid and abet terrorism and has trained 3,000-4,000 militants at the Indo-Pak border to push into J&K.

"We have intensified security on the border and launched rigorous operations to eliminate terrorists operating inside J&K," he added.
