Syed Salahuddin, founder-chief of the pro-Pakistan Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, on Monday praised the peace moves initiated by India and Pakistan.

He, however, ruled out an immediate ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir, while leaving doors open for a truce at a later stage. "If there is any sincerity shown by the parties in addressing the issue (Kashmir), then (we) will give a positive response."

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee announced a 'decisive' bid for peace and one he said would be his last. Since then, the nations have announced restoration of full diplomatic ties and an easing of transport curbs.
