Govt trying to improve lifestyles of policemen

The Maharashtra government is making efforts to ease the service conditions of policemen by making provisions to enable them a better lifestyle.

Policemen would be allowed to encash leave up to 15 days while the remaining could be accumulated as a special case, Minister of State for Home Rajendra Darda told reporters in Aurangabad.

Claims regarding TA/DA food allowance were being cleared on a priority basis. Pair of shoes from leading leather manufacturing companies would be purchased at competitive rates to be supplied to policemen.

Police Inspectors were elevated to the Class I cadre and Assistant Police Inspectors to Class II.

There have been some instances of policemen losing their lives owing to the long working hours and difficult working conditions.
