Many people were feared trapped when a three-storey building in suburban Mumbai collapsed.

Police and fire brigade men rushed to the spot. There were no reports of casualties when reports last came in.

Six people were rescued from the site of the crash and taken to hospital.

Pushpanjali building on 3rd Road, Khar (W), collapsed at around 10 pm on Friday trapping its residents, which included four families and their servants.

The building was around 40 years old, local residents said. Reports said heavy rains may have been responsible for the house collapse.

Rescue operations were on with the help of locals, fire brigade sources told rediff.com.
