Talking to rediff.com, People's Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti said that the details of the visit were still being worked out.

"Sonia will be visiting Uri on March 29 and would see for herself the arrangements that are being made for the first bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarbad," Mehbooba said.

Mehbooba maintains that the start of bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad is just one of the many milestones to be achieved.

She criticised the Bhartiya Janata Party, which objected to allowing All Party Hurriyat Conference leaders traveling by the bus.

"I don't know why the BJP should indulge in petty politics like this. If the Hurriyat people want to travel, then they should be allowed because they too are Kashmiris," she said.

She clarified that at the moment she had no plans to travel by the first bus to Muazffarabad. "This is a big event and I am busy making arrangements for the media and other important persons who would be present on the LoC to capture the event," she added.
