Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga will pay an official visit to New Delhi over the weekend, a media report said in Colombo on Tuesday.
There was no formal word from Kumaratunga's office about the visit, but the Sinhalese-language Lankadeepa newspaper said she will leave for India on Saturday on a two-day official visit.
The paper said she was expected to call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and meet with United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
The two sides were expected to discuss Colombo's plans to enter into a deal with Tamil Tiger rebels to handle millions of dollars in foreign aid for tsunami survivors.
Kumaratunga has said that such a deal could be the foundation for a final peace deal in Sri Lanka.
