Woman killed, three injured in militant attack in J-K

Militants shot dead a woman and seriously injured three of her children in a remote village in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said in Jammu on Wednesday.

A group of militants barged into the house of 45-year Ashou Begum in Pateli village in Rajouri district late Tuesday night, sources told PTI.

After eating food, they opened indiscriminate firing on the inmates of the house killing Ashou Begum on the spot and critically injuring her two sons and a daughter, they said.

Militants escaped from the spot, they said adding, that villagers admitted the injured to the hospital in Rajouri town.

The injured were identified as Mohammad Azam, Mohammad Shafiq and Nasreen Akhatar, they said adding, that troops have launched a cordon and search operation in the area to track down the militants.
