The crucial identification parade of Sunny Rawat, who allegedly fired the fatal shot at Meher Bhargava, would be held Wednesday, police sources said.

Rawat's identification parade was to be held Monday in the presence of a magistrate but could not be held owing to the absence of the eye witness, sources said.

Rawat, identified by the driver of the Bhargava family, had earlier confessed before the media that he had shot at Meher on February 28 but later retracted his statement in court.

Meanwhile, Sachin Pahari, the prime accused in the case, is still absconding. The police would be conducting forensic examination of the thumb impressions of Pahari as recorded in the jails where he had been lodged earlier.

Special Task Force sources said that the forensic examination of the thumb impressions would make it clear whether Pahari and Amit Singh were the same person or not. The police claim that Pahari and Amit Singh are the same person. Pahari had been lodged at jails in Lucknow and Allahabad earlier in connection with other offences.
