A Pakistani infiltrator was arrested after he crossed over to Indian territory from across the Line of Control in Poonch district.

Mohammad Latif, 30, hailing from Kerni village in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, was arrested when the troops intercepted him near Doda forward post in Shahpur belt on Thursday night, officials told PTI.

When the forces confronted him and asked him to surrender, Latif tried to run away towards Pakistan but was arrested, they added.

He was later handed over to local police and a case under the Passport Act registered against him. He has been sent to the Joint Interrogation Centre for questioning.
