The Samajwadi Party's protests against the execution of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and the Congress' advocacy of minorities' share in national resources were "anti-Hindu," Vishwa Hindu Parishad General Secretary Praveen Togadia on Friday alleged.

Addressing a 'Hindu Panchayat' in Sitapur, Togadia said Hindus hesitate from openly speaking on the issues concerning their society.

He said issues such as Saddam's execution, Pope's comments or cartoons of the prophet get wide and global condemnation but when it comes to going ahead with capital punishment to Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, Hindus hesitate in speaking out.

"Whenever Hindus are targetted all should unite and raise their voice against it," he said.

He appealed to Hindus to attend the VHP convention in Prayag from February 11 to 13.
