Karunanidhi's daughter has Rs 8.45 crore; CPI's Raja Rs 3,000

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi owns assets valued at about Rs 8.45 crore while Communist Party of India's national secretary D Raja has no property and has only Rs 3,000 in cash.

This was revealed in their affidavits filed along with the nominations for the June 15 Rajya Sabha elections.

The other DMK nominee N Siva, who also filed the nomination, has declared assets worth about Rs 70 lakh including those owned by his dependents.

Kanimozhi's assets Rs 15,000 cash, Rs 6,40,00,000 as fixed deposits with Indian Bank, Rs 16,52,000 in SB account in Tamilnad Mercantile Bank and Rs 1,96,230 in ICICI SB account.

She has shares worth Rs 3,50,000 in West Gate Logistics, a Toyota Camrey worth Rs 18,70,666 and gold and diamond jewellery valued at Rs 3,61,600.

Kanimozhi, who is set to make her debut in Parliament, owns a commercial building at Anna Salai which is valued at Rs 1,61,47,040.

Her spouse G Aravinthan owns a one acre house site and house at Athikottai near Pattukottai worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 10,000 cash.

Raja had declared Rs 3,000 as cash and no property to his name. His family members have bank deposits to the tune of about Rs 58,000.
