Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Masood Samoon delivered a letter from PMO to Malik, who had been admitted to the Soura Medical Institute after his condition deteriorated on Thursday last.

Malik broke his fast with a glass of juice given to him by the mother of 22-year-old youth Asif, who died last week after being hit by a teargas shell in the Maisuma locality.

The PMO has assured Malik that vehicles bound for Kashmir will be protected and security would be ensured for the Muslim community in Jammu region.

The JKLF chairman had gone on indefinite fast on Tuesday against what he said 'economic blockade and harassment of Muslim community members in Jammu region'.
