The wife of Moulana Nasirrudin, who is in the custody of the Gujarat police in connection with the Haren Pandya murder case, has written to the Andhra Pradesh high court seeking to produce her son Jabir before the court.

In a letter written to the Andhra Pradesh high court, Tasneem has stated that her son has been missing since the past two days.

She said that she suspects that Jabir is in police custody illegally and should be produced before the court. A similar letter has been written to the National Human Rights Commission as well.

Jabir, the youngest son of Moulana Nasiruddin, had gone missing on Monday, the same day the police conducted a raid on his house in Saidabad, Hyderabad.

Tasneem had alleged that the police had misbehaved during the raid and also alleged that her son Jabir had been picked up.

On August 23, Jabir had told rediff.com that he was forced to give up his studies as all the male members of the family had been arrested by the police as a result of which there was none to support his mother and sister-in-law.

He said that he had started working at his brother's workshop, but since the past one month had stopped going there due to police pressure.

"The police used to monitor my movements all the time and I was unable to do any work. That is when I decided to sit at home," he said.

"The police have destroyed my family financially and we have no support," he added.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad police denied that they have Jabir in their custody. A source in the department told rediff.com that during the raid they had seized a hard disk, and also 40 CDs.

The CDs comprised speeches of Safdar Nagori which were provocative in nature. Apart from this, the funeral procession of another youth by the name Mujahid who was shot down by the police during a protest was also there on the CD.
