The terror plot in Karnataka has taken a completely new twist with, Mohammed Riazuddin Nasir, the suspected HuJI militant, saying that Adnan is the mastermind and not him.
Nasir, who was subjected to a lie detector test, said that Adnan was the one who had masterminded the terror plot in Karnataka and he was just his deputy.
The statement by Nasir has given the police an additional headache as Adnan has managed to give them the slip. The Karnataka police have launched a massive manhunt for Adnan, who reportedly escaped arrest after he had been tipped off about Nasir's arrest.
The police are digging deeper into the antecedents of Adnan, who was a self-proclaimed convener of the banned outfit Students Islamic Movement of India in Karnataka. Preliminary investigations regarding Adnan have revealed that he was close to both Nasir and Asadullah, who was first picked up on charges of vehicle theft before a whole terror plot unfolded.
According to Nasir, Adnan was their leader and he was the one who meted out instructions to them. Nasir also revealed that Adnan was in possession of several AK-47 rifles and ammunition. Nasir further said that Adnan was studying civil engineering.
He further said that Adnan had chalked out a detailed plan to strike targets in Karnataka and had also prepared a team for the same. Nasir also revealed that three persons, namely Hamza, Shahid Imam and Mirza Baig, were part of the team. All these three persons are now absconding.
Nasir was subjected to both brain mapping and polygraph tests. The police hope to get more information once they subject him to a narco-analysis test in a few days time.
The police are now trying to find out about those persons who have been financing these terrorists to carry out the attacks.
Based on the information revealed by Nasir, the police are trying to find out if Adnan had any relatives in Bangalore. Nasir had mentioned that Adnan used to frequently visit a relative in Bangalore, who was working in government service.
