The Praja Rajyam party has cancelled the ongoing "Praja Yatra" of film star turned politician Chiranjeevi a day ahead of schedule as he was running fever and was unwell after traveling for last one week under the scorching sun.

The star, who has covered nearly five hundred kms in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram and is currently touring Visakhapatnam has addressed nearly a hundred road side meetings and conducted a road show. But now his party feels that if he persisted with this punishing schedule, his health would worsen.

Consequently the official spokesperson of Praja Rayam party P Mitra announced that Chiranjeevi's Ya1tra will come to an end on Thursday and his tour and meetings scheduled for Friday have been cancelled.

"It is disappointing for the supporters and fans of Chiranjeevi but we have to take the decision in view of his condition. The uncovered parts of Visakhapatnam will be included in Chiranjeevi's tour next time," Mitra said.

Chiranjeevi told the people that his mother Anjana Devi had talked to him over phone and expressed her concern over his health. "I told her I will have to continue with the tour as people need somebody to make sacrifices for them," he said.

This was the first part of his state wide yatra and the star and the party were elated over the overwhelming response he got from the people in the north coastal Andhra region.

Expressing his happiness over the massive turnout of people at every step of his tour, Chiranjeevi, "If such is your love and support, then it should not be a big problem to solve the problems facing the state."

Making the alleged corruption in the government the main target of his attack, "I am coming in to politics to serve the people and not to take any benefit. I am dedicating my life to the people," he said.
