Rahul Raj, 25, who was killed in a shoot-out in a BEST bus in Mumbai, was cremated amid tight security in Patna late Tuesday night, police said.

"Rahul was cremated amid tight security. Hundreds of people, including Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi attended the funeral," Patna SSP Amit Kumar said.

Soon after Rahul 's body was brought on Tuesday night  from Mumbai , the Bihar government persuaded his family to cremate him late night instead of  Wednesday in view of  the protests by local people.

Rahul's father K P Singh fainted during the rituals before cremation. It was Singh who lit Rahul's pyre.

However, locals threatened to launch agitation for justice and demanded a CBI probe into his killing.
