Justifying his remarks that Tamil Nadu would witness a blood bath if anything happened to LiberationTigers of Tamil Eelam leader V Prabakaran, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Vaiko said onThursday, he had only warned the government of the consequences only with a good intention.

"As a true loyal citizen of India, I gave warning to the government only with the good intention and good faith", he told reporters here. He said he had warned the government of a sitution that might emerge due to anger and agitation among the people if the Sri Lankan Tamil problem was not solved. "Such a situation should be averted", he said. Ruling out any violence by his party men due to his remarks, Vaiko said his party never indulged in violence. "Even when I was arrested many times, my cadre never indulged in any sort of violence or created any law and order problem". "Today, we have adopted a resolution in our general council meeting demanding the Centre lift the ban against the LTTE", he said. He said creation of a separate home land for Sri Lankan Tamils alone could end the ethnic strife in the island.

To a question how the MDMK and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam relations would go on smoothly since the latter was totally against the LTTE, Vaiko said his party's ideology is different from that of AIADMK but it would not strain their relationship. Expressing confidence that the AIADMK-led Front would win all the 39 Lok Sabha seats in the state, he said he would announce his candidates for the polls very soon.
