Former MP Chandra Vijay Singh was among several leaders who switched loyalties to Congress on Saturday.
Singh, who was elected to Lok Sabha in 1999 on a Loktantrik Congress ticket and then joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, resigned from the saffron party and joined Congress, AICC spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan announced in New Delhi.
Apart from Singh, several leaders of the Ram Vilas Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party also joined the Congress. Subhash Sharma, LJP National General Secretary, Haji Anwer Qureshi, national vice-president of LJP youth wing, Sunil Dixit, chief general secretary of the party in UP and the secretary of its parliamentary board, were among others who joined the Congress on Saturday.
