UPA to win 205-215 seats, NDA 160-170: Survey

April 14, 2009 23:52 IST
According to a recent survey conducted by NDTV, the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance is expected to win around 205-215 seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections, the first phase of which begins on April 16.

The survey also revealed that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance is also expected to win 160-170 parliamentary seats.

The much talked about Third Front, a conglomeration of the Left parties with some key regional parties like the Telugu Desam Party, the Janata Dal- Secular, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, and others, would also secure 120-130 seats, the survey stated.

The newly formed alliance of regional bigwigs Samajwadi Party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Lok Janshakti Party, which is often regarded as the 'Fourth Front', is also expected to secure around 30-35 seats, according to the survey.
