Television star and Congress candidate Shekhar Suman filed his nomination on Friday for the prestigious Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency and fired his first salvo against Bollywood star and Bharatiya Janata Party nominee Shatrughan Sinha accusing the sitting Bihar MP of doing nothing for the people of the state. The Rashtriya Janata Dal's Vijay Kumar Sahu is Suman's third rival.
Riding on a cycle rickshaw with much fanfare, Suman submitted his papers to Patna District Magistrate-cum-returning officer J K Sinha. Later, talking to reporters Suman alleged that Sinha neither did anything as Union Health minister nor protected Bihari pride when north Indians were being attacked by MNS activists last year in Mumbai.
"What did Shatrughan Sinha do as Health minister? What has he done to protect the Bihari pride, particularly when Biharis were being beaten by MNS activists in Mumbai. If Sinha has done anything for Biharis then you vote for him otherwise it is upto you to take a decision," Suman said wooing the voters.
"Sinha is like my elder brother but it is a clash of ideologies," the TV actor said.
