Accusing the Opposition parties of being devoid of any concrete issue to fight the Lok Sabha polls, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on Tuesday that the Congress will focus on the development that took place under the United Progressive Alliance government during the campaign.
"Except Congress none of the political party has development on its agenda as a poll issue. The party will fight Lok Sabha polls on this issue," Priyanka told media-persons in Amethi.
Priyanka said she had no plans either to contest elections or to enter politics. She said she will only campaign for her mother Sonia Gandhi and brother Rahul Gandhi. "Like previous years, I will oversee campaigning in Amethi and Rae Bareli. I have no intentions to enter politics or to contest elections," she said.
Priyanka parried a question on Bharatiya Janata Party terming her reaction on Varun's speeches against Muslims as an affair between bhai-behen (brother-sister).
Regarding resentment by local Members of Legislative Assembly and senior leaders during a meeting held at Munshiganj guest house on Monday she said: "They put forward their point of view and every person has right to express his views and ideas."
Priyanka, who is on a two-day tour to Amethi and Rae Bareli, last night met senior party leaders and MLAs and
reviewed poll preparations in two constituencies.
During the meeting, some leaders complained that they were being ignored and were unable to meet their MP Rahul
Gandhi during his visit to Amethi.
