Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yedyurappa, who was pulled up by Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami for violating the model code of conduct, has clarified that he was only attending a meeting of his well wishers.
Yedyurappa said that he would write to the Election Commission stating that he had done no wrong.
The CEC had claimed that the Karnataka CM had spoken at a rally after 10 pm, violating the model code of conduct. But Yeddyurappa claimed that he had addressed a private meeting of well wishers and not a poll meeting.
The Karnataka CM has also decided to lodge a complaint against Sonia Gandhi, who according to him had defamed the party, during her recent rally in Davangere.
