Independent candidate from Gandhinagar constituency and danseuse Mallika Sarabhai today, who takes on BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, said she will not fight as a Congress candidate but does not mind if that party extends support to her.
"I will not fight on Congress ticket but if they give me their support, I welcome them," Sarabhai told reporters.
The Congress is yet to declare its candidate for Gandhinagar seat.
Sarabhai said as she has entered politics now she is open to criticism. "I know that I will be subjected to criticism but I am open to it".
She said she will fight the poll using "donations" given by the people and so far she has received more than Rs 3 lakh in donation.
Sarabhai said she has received support of many NGOs, public organisation and secular forces in the last few days.
