AICC sidelines Arjun Singh

The All India Congress Committe sprang a surprise on Saturday on its senior leader Arjun Singh by denying ticket to his son Ajay Singh, an MLA from Churhat in  Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, the Congress on Saturday declared
former state minister Indrajit Patel as its candidate from Sidhi. No candidate, however, is yet declared for Satna which Arjun Singh wants for his daughter Veena.

Four other candidates from Madhya Pradesh announced on Saturday include Satyanarayan Patel, MLA from Depalpur in Indore district, to take on former union minister and sitting MP Sumitra Mahajan from Indore.

Former MP Surendra Singh Thakur has been given ticket from Bhopal to fight against BJP's former chief minister and sitting MP Kailash Joshi while Sajjan Verma will contest from Dewas against BJP's national
vice-president Thawar Chand Gehlot.

Former Chief Minister Giridhar Gomang from Koraput and Chandra Sekhar Sahu from Behrampur are the only two sitting Congress MPs from Orissa to figure among 16 candidates announced from the state

Srikant Jena  who was Pradesh Congress committe president  till recently Balasore) who was the PCC President until recently.

The Congress also announced 36 candidates from Orissa and nine from Andhra Pradesh for the assembly elections.
