A day after the United Progressive Alliance emerged as a winner in the 15th Lok Sabha elections, party general secretary Rahul Gandhi celebrated the victory with senior Congress leaders at party's 'election war-room' in New Delhi.
Gandhi met the leaders in the office located at Gurudwara Rakabganj road here where a lunch has been organised for them. Senior party leaders, including Ahmed Patel, Janardhan Dwivedi, Oscar Fernandes, Jairam Ramesh and Dipender Hooda were present on the occasion. Gandhi reached the venue around 11:45 am where he congratulated Congress workers for their efforts which led to party's victory in the polls.

All India Congress Committee general secretary Janardan Dwivedi, who also attended the tea party, said no political discussion took place as it was not a political meeting. "There was no meeting. There was nothing political in it and no politics was discussed. This was our election office. After elections ended, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had come to thank the persons who were discharging responsibility here. "Rahul ji had also come today and met all of us," Dwivedi said when asked about the purpose of the party leaders' gathering.

Dwvivedi said Gandhi thanked all the people who worked in the war-room. Asked whether the issue of Rahul Gandhi joining the ministry came up for discussion during the celebrations, the Congress leader replied in the negative. "Nothing was talked about this. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi have already replied to this. PM has said he wishes that he (Rahul) joins the ministry but it depends on him," he added.
