"Gujarat will continue its journey on the path of development," Modi said at the Ahmedabad [ Images ] airport before leaving for Delhi [ Images ] in the morning.
Modi indicated that he would continue to be the chief minister of the state and take it on the development path.
"I also request the United Progressive Alliance [ Images ] government to pursue the path of development," Modi said.
Modi had extensively campaigned throughout India [ Images ] for the Bharatiya Janata Party's [ Images ] prime ministerial candidate L K Advani [ Images ].
After the dismal performance of the BJP and the National Democratic Alliance in the elections, this was Modi's first reaction.
