Farooq Abdullah prefers IPL to swearing in ceremony

Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah thought that it was better to go to South Africa for the IPL than go through the drab exercise of watching Dr Manmohan Singh being sworn in as prime minister for second time along with cabinet colleagues.

Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Arun Jaitley, who is president of Delhi District Cricket Association will give Abdullah company  in South Africa.

Incidentally Adbullah's name was struck off the list of ministers after the Buddhists in Ladhakh threatened to launch a massive agitation. Power minister Rigzin Jora in Omar Abdullah's cabinet wrote a letter to Congress president pointing out the communal overtones of  Adbullah's comments during the Lok Sabha elections.

Adbullah had fielded his own party's provincial chief against P Namgayal,  the Congress nominee from Ladakh. Speaking to rediff.com, Namgayal charged the former J&K chief minister of trying to project himself as secular when " he was a communalist."

" I would not say that Gulam Nabi Azad had any hand in the wrong doing against me," Namgayal said. 

Namgyal lost by less than 3000 odd votes to the National Conference candidate. Namgayal charged Adbullah of high-jacking the helicopter and not sharing with him particuarly when it was most wanted.

Namgayal has written a letter to the congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi and has now left the matter to her discretion.
