Trinamool's electoral ally Congress took out a colourful procession, carrying large portraits of Gandhiji, Manmohan Singh, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Some of the revelers were seen stuffing sweets into the mouths of the portraits of Sonia and Rahul. However, the Communist Party of India-Marxist office on Alimuddin street was quiet.
