Humpy in sole possession of second place

World junior chess champion Koneru Humpy solely occupied the second place in the First Saturday Grandmasters tournament in Budapest, Hungary, after winning her third round match on Monday night.

The Indian ace, playing black, beat Husari Satea of Syria to register her second victory in the tournament and take her tally to 2.5 points.

International Master Peter Horvath of Hungary, with three points, leads the field.

Humpy's fourth round opponent is Sandor Biro of Hungary, who is on 0.5 points at the end of the third round.

The First Saturday GM tournament, which began on October 6, ends on October 17. Twelve players from various countries like Hungary, Yugoslavia, Syria, Qatar, Vietnam, Bulgaria and India are participating.
