Phalguni Dutta critical after road accident

Ace left-back and East Bengal football team skipper Phalguni Dutta was seriously injured in a road accident on Sunday.

The accident occurred on Barrackpore-Kalyani expressway in Nadia district, Kolkata, when Dutta, who was traveling on his motorcycle, collided with another vehicle, club sources in Kolkata said.

Dutta was returning home after a practice session at the club tent on the eve of his team's crucial National Football League encounter against arch-rivals Mohun Bagan on Monday. He has been admitted to the Jawaharlal Nehru hospital in Kalyani with a head injury and a broken collar bone.
